CAMP SONGS

1966 or 67 girl's entrance song for Girl Boy Sing.
The theme was Lerner and Lowe.

The beginning went to the tune of "Almost Like Being In Love"

Two great men here tonight
We present for your delight
We salute you Mr. Lerner and Lowe
Never perishing flames
Most distinguished of names
Hailed from London to curse Brigadoon
Perfect love from troubled courtships arise
In a town every hundred years alive
Arthur had problems on his mind
When in Camelot he did find
Lancelot in love with Guinevere
King Arthur's wrath was so severe
He intended to behed his love

Gray Alma Mata 1969
Sung to the tune of Tune of Doena Doena
Many suns have set, many suns have rose,
Since we came to you Pokono.
Days and nights seem to come together as our devotion to you does grow.
When we first inhaled you, all our fears did subside
Longing for a place to grow were answered by your side.
Pokono - Pokono we hear you calling, calling us the whole day long.
Pokono we hear you calling. Telling us we do belong.
Subtle beauty, sheer contentment we live with every summer day. He who stands alone on a mountain builds close friendships that always stay.
Suddenly we realize Summer '69 is gone. Hopes are passed and lives revived we dedicate our song.
Pokono - Pokono we hear you calling. Calling us the whole day long. Pokono we hear you calling telling us we do belong.

1969 Entrance:

"Oklahoma"
Western heroes of the old west prove their fame tonight
With their actions bold
Their lives retold
Through the years they've held a torch of might

Jesse James, a hero bold who killed many a man
He stole from the rich
Gave to the poor
When he robbed the Glendale train he ran

George A. Custer went west to command
Best remembered for his Last Stand
Against the Siouxs, led
by famous Sitting Bull,
On the little Big Horn George A. Custer, a hero was born

"Bonnie and Clyde"

Buffalo Bill, the terror of the plains
Earned his great nickname as a buffalo hunter
He left the frontier in 1872
to make his big debut in a wild west show
Among the stars were Annie Oakley and Bill
Wild Bill Hickock then rose to his fame
The old wild west was never the same (never the same)

"You Can't Get a Man With a Gun"

Earp of Dodge City
Thought it was a pity that the outlaws did reign supreme
He got onto the law's side
To hassle with the bad guys
Wipe them out, making Dodge City clean

"Bonanza"

Heroes of the old west we salute you
For the building the frontier with courage, strength and
dignity
Your glory remains!
Grey team will give you the chills tonight

"Alfred Hitchcock"

Our trolls and monsters pack fearful fright
They're freaky, creepy, hairy, scary, mostly ghostly
All of them wrapped into
One big package of monster mash
Their manners rotten and sometimes brash
They're bloody, cruddy, gooey, slimy, spooky, kooky,
Ready to get you ...

"Age of Aquarius"

...When the moon is shining full and bright
and thunder clouds do appear
When fear and terror strike the earth
And lurking demons do come near
This is the dawning of the age of the Horror Films
Age of the Horror Films ...
Cineramascopic thrillers
Superpanavision chillers
Technicolor harum-scarem
Costly sets and fancy makeup
In a California fakeup
Which will cause your mind to break up
The Horror Films ... Grey Horror Films!

"Let the Sun Shine In" (?)

Ever frightful, but delightful
Were the creatures of the features
They were vicious but delicious
And exciting when they're biting
Alfred Hitchcock, Alfred Hitchcock
Boris Karloff and Lugosi
While you're sleeping
They are creeping
Always feeding
While you're bleeding.

Ahh beep beep
Ahh bang bang
Ahh unggowwuh grey team power
There's no brother like a soul brother to the bone
Ahh to the bone

"Those Were the Days"

Toyland is here tonight
In song we do unite
To bring to you a story of delight
A timeless tale of love
A perfect symbol of
The truths of life shown by mere fantasy

"Put on a Happy Face"

Remember old Gepetto
Pinocchio was his son
But other toys were present
He wasn't the only one
There were the wooden soldiers, dancing dolls
One teddy bear
Silently waiting on the shelves until
He wasn't there

"Pop Goes the Weasel"

All around Gepetto's shop
The toys rose from their slumber
Jack-in-the-box yawned and stretched
And then he did his number

In strolled the teddy bear
Oh so cuddly, fuzzy hair
Prancing on the wooden floors
Holding up his paws

"Pop Goes the Weasel"

To wind up all the dancing dolls
And set them into motion

And caused a big commotion

"Babes in Toyland"

Waking their soldiers
Starting them marching
All in step and side by side
In one direction showing perfection
They could not conceal their pride

"Pop Goes the Weasel"

A ballerina timid and shy sat lonely in a corner
A wooden soldier far from her side
Glanced across and saw her

With one look, both did know something deep inside
A feeling of comfort and of need
Drawing close to each other
They embraced one another
In one moment their love they did cecede

"Pop Goes the Weasel"

A glorious night had come to an end
The dusky morn was breaking
Gepetto arose to open his shop
And Toyland started taking

"Those Were the Days"

Their places on the shelves
Rushing like Santa's elves
To erase the traces left behind
Of last night's escapades when a first love was made
Toyland has triumphed overall tonight!
